Spring Cleaning Your Mind
In my last post, I gave you my top tips for spring cleaning your body. This time, I’m going to give you my top tips for spring cleaning your mind.
Just like our physical surroundings, our minds can get cluttered. By clearing the clutter and creating new routines, we can truly harness the power of our minds, and bring calmer energy into our lives.
So here are my top tips for spring cleaning your mind:
1. Mind Dump. We often keep running to-do and to-remember lists in our heads. Why not clear out that space and get rid of the unnecessary clutter. Set aside 10 minutes to write out everything you’re holding on to mentally. Nothing is too big or too small to go on this list. Update your list regularly so you can keep your mind clutter-free! You’ll notice your focus, cognitive capacity, and creativity improve through this very simple practice.
2. Breathe. Whenever possible, notice your breath. Then try consciously slowing it down just a bit. Notice the effects.
3. Express Gratitude. Regularly expressing gratitude significantly increases your emotional wellbeing. A simple exercise: every night write down 3 things you’re grateful for. Again, nothing is too big or too small to go on this list.
